I don’t know about you guys, but I love finishing beauty products. Ever since Eva Chen started posting pictures of her skincare and makeup empties and her hashtag #beautifulempties, I’ve been obsessed with empties posts. Here are the products I’ve finished so far in 2016 and my thoughts on them:
I’ll first discuss my makeup removing empties. I finished the Ole Henriksen Pure Truth Melting Cleanser and the Sephora Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover. I liked both but in all honesty still prefer Clinique’s Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil and Remover (currently on sale at Nordstrom w/ free shipping!) over the two products I finished. I also finished the mini version of Dr. Jart’s Micro Water, which I received in the Bloglovin’ HM Awards Birchbox. I like to soak some onto a cotton pad and run it over my skin after I use my makeup remover to get the leftover residue off.
Next up are the cleansers. I finished the Tatcha Classic Rice Enzyme Powder and the Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash. I love both. I don’t use the Tatcha Rice Enzyme Powder every day because it would be too harsh for my skin but I use it around three times a week. It’s the perfect gentle exfoliant and leaves my skin feeling super soft and clean. I liked using the Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash, especially because using it feels like a soft marshmallow cloud on my face. The only thing I wasn’t a huge fan of was the scent. Currently I’m using a Detoxifying Black Cleanser from Boscia and the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser so reviews for those to come!
I tested out and finished a couple different face creams and lotions as well. I usually have combination/oily skin but over the winter, my skin was pretty dry. I used Clinique Turnaround Overnight Revitalizing Moisturizer with the Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask (on sale at Nordstrom w/ free shipping, or travel sized version available at Macy’s) and both were so good at restoring moisture back to my skin. I also picked up the Tatcha Indigo Soothing Triple Recovery Cream because I suffer from eczema and the product’s formulation is great for soothing and calming irritated skin. Last but not least, I finished the Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist which I like to spritz whenever I’m in need of a pick-me-up for dewy skin.
These are just a few of the products I’ve finished so far. I have a ton more empties that I haven’t gotten around to making posts for so expect more of these posts in the future!
