From Bottom to Top: Kylie Cosmetics Glosses in So Cute, Literally and Like
Kylie Jenner is known for her lip kits but she recently released new Kylie Cosmetics glosses! Kylie posted on her Instagram that she sold over 200,000 glosses in the latest restock. They come in three shades called Like, Literally and So Cute. Read more for my Kylie Cosmetics glosses review and swatches:
Unlike the lip kits, the glosses don’t come with liners. However, Kylie recommends using a liner with her glosses for the optimal result. The Dolce K and Candy K liners both work for Like and Literally glosses. For So Cute, I recommend Koko K because it’s lighter and slightly more pink hued.
I wrote about the thank you letter that Kylie includes in each order in my previous Kylie Cosmetics lip kit unboxing post here. This is the special letter that Kylie includes when you order a gloss and it’s different from the letter you get when you order lip kits.
This is what the front of the letter looks like. It’s related to her Glosses video that came out a day before the product launch.
From left to right: So Cute, Literally, Like
So Cute: a warm nude beige.
Literally: a warm-toned peachy nude.
Like: a warm mocha, brown beige.
Faith from the blog That’s Just Fabulous had a great swatch comparing the three shades so I included it for reference.
Here are swatches of the shades from @_lemair on Instagram of Like, Literally and So Cute. She also has amazing swatches of the metal matte shades.
I feel like I always look weird in nude tones so my favorite out of the three shades is Like. All of the shades apply really evenly and smoothly and are pigmented and thick without being sticky.
In the first batch of glosses, a lot of people complained about the poor quality of the brush. However, due to these complaints, Kylie’s company is apparently sending everyone who ordered a gloss during that first release a new improved brush. I was pleasantly surprised by that gesture and customer service.
