You might have seen social media posts made by your friends or people you follow of colorful boxes from Influenster filled with free stuff, ranging from beauty products to food to health supplies. I signed up a little less than a year ago and have already received products from Hourglass, L’Oreal, St. Ives and more. Interested in learning how to get a box for yourself? Read more! View Post
Indie Lee Rosehip Cleanser
I’ve been looking to get more into the natural skincare products and one of the products I was looking for was a natural cleanser. I received a sample of the Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser when I visited the Credo Beauty store in NYC and loved it. It smells amazing, just like fresh strawberries. The Stell recently started carrying some of Indie Lee’s products so I was excited to place an order. I ended up getting the Rosehip Cleanser instead of the Brightening Cleanser I previously tried because the Rosehip one is better for sensitive skin. Read more for my full review! View Post
It wasn’t until sophomore year of college that I really became interested in the beauty industry. I was interning at Bloglovin’ as a blogger relationship associate so I started reading a lot of beauty blogs and getting more into products. During that time I was also taking my first marketing class in college, Intro to Marketing, with Professor Bonezzi. During the class, we had guest speakers who were in various marketing roles. One of the guest speakers was Lillian Tung, who shared her experiences doing marketing for the beauty industry. Hearing her talk about what her role was like was what first peaked my interest in working in the beauty industry and doing marketing as a career.
I go to a business school where there is a lot of pressure to do finance but hearing about what it was like to do marketing in the beauty industry solidified my choice to pursue a career in marketing. I loved that it felt very entrepreneurial and required a mix of creative and quantitative skills. I owe a lot to Lillian Tung for speaking to my Intro to Marketing class because it led me to where I am today and played a huge role in helping me figure out what I want to do with my life – work in beauty marketing and someday hopefully start my own beauty company.
Lillian Tung left L’Oreal to co-found a beauty company called Fur, a business with rather unconventional products. Fur is the first brand to embrace the conversation around daily pubic hair care. It is the first line of products that cares for pubic hair and skin. I had the opportunity to interview Lillian and test out the products. Read more for the interview! View Post
Tatcha Travel Sized Luminous Dewy Skin Mist
Last week, I wrote a post on the unboxing of my order from Tatcha, which you can read here. The product I ordered was the travel sized version of the Luminous Dewy Skin Mist. I’ve heard so many good things about the dewy skin mist from everyone – bloggers, friends, co-workers, etc. The travel-sized spray is only $15 (compared to $48 for the full-size version) so I ordered one from the website and received it in the mail a while back. A few weeks ago, I was invited to try out YUNI Beauty, a brand that makes natural body care products inspired by yoga lovers. YUNI was founded by Emmanuel Rey and Suzanne Dawson, certified Ashtanga Yoga teachers. They wanted to create a mindful green beauty brand of their own that addressed the unique needs of active health seekers. YUNI’s plant-based products are developed in mind for consumers with active modern lifestyles, which I thought was unique. They have products that aid in clean-up and recovery post-workout. I had the opportunity to try the Travel Set with really interesting products like a no-rinse body cleansing foam – read more for my review! View Post
