Meet the Crème de Glossier
. It’s a luxurious face cream for those moments when your skin needs extra hydration such as during the winter or at night. I’m so glad that Glossier finally came out with this thicker moisturizer. I usually have combination/oily skin but it gets drier during the winter because of the cold and the use of the heater.
This cream was formulated to reinforce the skin barrier and lock in moisture over time. Like the classic Priming Moisturizer
, PMR (Priming Moisturizer Rich)
is also great at priming, and gives skin a smooth, dewy canvas for any products that come after.
The texture of PMR
is really rich but non-greasy. It’s made with a blend of shea and murumuru butters which absorb very quickly into the skin.
also contains several other key ingredients. Among these include red algae, which sponges up water. It delivers long term hydration to skin. It also contains Ceramides 3 & 6 which are oily waxes that occur naturally in the body. They help bind skin cells together, strengthening the skin barrier. Another ingredient is kukui oil which contains five fatty acids – palmitic, stearic, oleic, linoleic and linolenic. All of these help lock in water, making the skin ultra hydrated.
contains an anti-redness complex which calms skin while the oxygenating agent soothes skin, improving tone and texture. This makes it the perfect base for makeup, if you wake up and your skin feels a little dry.
Personally, I love to use PMR
at night. It’s very luxurious – on par with the likes of La Mer and other very expensive face cream brands. It has a lavender scent, which is very soothing and perfect for before bed.
To use, massage the cream into your face in upward strokes. A little goes a long way so I only need a pea sized amount. I use it as the last step in my skincare routine in the evening, after cleansing, toning and treating.
Despite its initial thick texture, the viscosity decreases once it hits the skin. Like the original Priming Moisturizer, it is buildable and can be applied in layers. Use one layer for sutle hydration and two layers for something more intensely nourishing. I also like to apply it to my neck as well because it is also important to take care of the skin on your neck. It is just as delicate as the skin on the face! Neck hydration is key!!
