Does anyone else love discovering new beauty brands? I’ve been really into natural, indie skincare brands lately so I was very excited when Nowhere Anywhere reached out to me and asked if I wanted to collaborate! Nowhere Anywhere is an online retailer with a curated collection of small and emerging brands. As you all probably know, I have a love for mini, travel sized beauty products so of course I needed the travel set from Soul Sunday and the blue hued facial oil from Balm & Co. Read more for detailed reviews on these products and how they’ve helped with my acne!
First up is the Balm & Co Sky Serum. It was created specifically for acne prone skin, which is perfect for me. It’s also good for reducing dark spots from hyper-pigmentation, which I also struggle with because of my acne scars. What gives the serum its pretty light blue color is blue yarrow, an oil rich in azulene that soothes and calms skin. Moringa, rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, treats current breakouts while lemon helps prevent future breakouts. The Sky Serum seems to be more of a facial oil than a serum but is light-weight and non-greasy. It absorbs into the skin quite rapidly and the essential oil blend of lavender and juniper is quite a unique combination but a calming scent.
This travel set from Soul Sunday Set was also made with those for acne-prone skin. The trio includes a 2 oz face cleanser, a 2 oz toner and a 1/3 oz rollerball facial oil. The rice wash is very gentle and great for sensitive skin. It is also super clean in terms of ingredients – it contains rice water, jojoba oil and lavender. The gentle toner mist was made for balancing troubled, sensitive skin. It’s like it was made for me!! It contains witch hazel, which is great for treating acne. The floral facial oil is light and hydrating. It contains red raspberry seed oil and squalane, which helps the skin retain its moisture as well as geranium flower oil and sandalwood, which promote skin clarity.
For my skincare routine, I start with the Soul Sunday Rice Wash as a cleanser. Following cleansing, I use the Soul Sunday Gentle Toner. While my skin is still damp, I use five drops of the Balm & Co Sky Serum and gently massage/pat the oil into my skin and then finish off with a moisturizer. I like to use the Soul Sunday Bougie Lite Facial Oil for my neck area and behind the ears. It has a metal roller which is soothing and helps relieve some of the tension in the face.
What I love about the indie beauty companies carried by Nowhere Anywhere is that the products are hand blended and made with care in small batches. Small batch manufacturing is beneficial because it means that the products you receive are fresher! Beauty products have a shelf life and the potency and effectiveness of the ingredients diminishes with time. The products also contain no fillers so every ingredient serves a purpose. There is also no animal testing, which is always a plus!
I have a bunch of trips coming in the spring so I’m excited to pack these with me. I’m going to Cancun in a week and these will definitely be in my suitcase!
Thank you Nowhere Anywhere for sponsoring this post!
