Best Brunch Place In NYC: Navy

Brunch is one of my favorite meals to have with friends, especially during the weekend. It’s a chance to catch up and relax from the busy week we’ve had with school and work. After living here for the past three years, I feel like NYC has some of the most amazing brunch places! Unfortunately, the popular brunch places are often so crowded and have wait times of at least 30 minutes to sometimes more than an hour! Luckily I’ve been able to find some spots that have minimal wait times but delicious food. Read more to learn my favorite brunch spot in NYC to go to with friends plus an easy way to split the bill afterwards!

One restaurant that I’ve always heard good things about is Navy, located in SoHo. After trying it out for myself, I can vouch that the food is delicious. The good thing about Navy is that you can make reservations online for brunch for up to six people, even during the weekends. That way, there is never a wait. The restaurant itself is pretty small but has great decor and plenty of natural light.

I love the Quinoa Crisp which includes chorizo, market greens poached egg and ancho-lime aioli. It’s the perfect blend of flavors and has the best texture.

My friend Arlina ordered the Avocado + Radish Toast which comes with pickled fennel, mustard seed and chili. She let me try some of hers and it was so good! Probably one of the best avocado toasts I’ve had.

I love eating with friends but splitting the bill at the end of the meal is always such a hassle. I’ve found that an app called Square Cash actually makes it really easy to split the bill with friends. Instead of trying to split the bill among five different credit cards, one person can pay using a credit card and the other four can pay the person back through Square Cash. Basically, Square Cash is an easy way to send or receive money from friends and family. All you have to do is download the app at www.cash.me, signup and link your debit card. The whole process takes less than 5 minutes.

Square also has something called the Square Cash Virtual Card which is available to all users for free. It can be used to buy things online straight from your cash account, streamlining the online shopping process. The big pro with Square Cash is that it allows for instant deposits for a 1% fee. With other apps, you have a waiting period before your deposits reach your bank account but Square Cash is the only app that does instant deposits! It also doesn’t have any silly social sharing features and instead focuses on having a clean, simple user-friendly interface.

Going to brunch with friends over the weekend is honestly the best. Navy is a great place to go with a group of people if you are looking for a place that has a short wait but good food. Square Cash makes splitting the bill easy and hassle free.
