I turned 21 (!) a couple weeks ago and booked a night at the Gramercy Park Hotel as a relaxing staycation. I’ve always wanted to stay at the Gramercy Park Hotel because guests have access to the exclusive Gramercy Park (post on the park coming soon). Read more for a detailed review of my stay and the amazing amenities and beauty products provided!
Devan and I went a little crazy at Shake Shack and ended up buying three ‘shroom burgers, fries, two custards and a lemonade. We brought the food back to eat in bed at the hotel and caught up on TV shows. The hotel left four mini cupcake treats and a note the morning of my birthday! So cute.
During the turn down service, when the bed is prepared for use, an employee left us with a notecard detailing the weather for the next day, which I thought was a nice touch. The yellow leaf fell on me during one of my walks in Gramercy Park so I kept it as a little momento.
The hotel is a modern take on a traditional grand hotel and you can tell through the decor, furnishings and artwork. The room itself is pretty small but nicely decorated. The only complaint I had was that the hallways were so dark, but I guess that was the part of the aesthetics of the design. Location wise, the hotel is situated in one of my favorite areas. The surrounding neighborhood is so beautiful!
As a beauty junkie, I always pay attention to the amenities that are offered at hotels. I love when hotels offer Aesop or Le Labo products. The Gramercy Park Hotel has an Aesop travel set consisting of the Classic Shampoo and Conditioner, Geranium Leaf Body Wash and my favorite, the Rind Concentrate Body Balm. Also included in the amenities were Red Flower bath salts and an Aesop body cleansing slab.
Overall, the Gramery Park Hotel is a nice splurge as a peaceful and relaxing staycation for New York City residents or a great, historic place to stay for tourists visiting New York City.
I plan on doing more travel related posts in the future but in the meantime, you can find all my posts on New York City here!
