This is my absolute favorite time of the year. I LOVE FALL!!! The weather, the crisp leaves, the smell of the air, pumpkins, cider donuts, hiking, everything. I had been telling all of my friends how much I’ve wanted to take a trip to a farm this month and was beyond ecstatic when I received an invitation from Seed Phytonutrients to attend a fall harvest event at Shiloh Farms!
Shiloh Farms is two hours away from NYC by bus in Kitnersville, Pennsylvania. We were driven out in chartered buses for a nice getaway from the city. How cute is this set up?!?
Everything was so cute and fall harvest themed. You can always find us where the food is. There was a vegan mozzarella tomato and balsamic vinegar hors d’oeuvre that was amazingly delicious. It tasted just like real mozzarella.
A goat! Such a sweet face, just nibbling on some grass. The owners of the farm, Shane Wolf and his husband, also started Seed Phytonutrients. They rescue animals and rehabilitate them on their farm. Life goals.
One of my favorite tents was the craft tent. We had the chance to pot seeds and decorate pumpkins!! I have been craving fall activities for the longest time so this was perfect.
Seed Phytonutrients partners with independent organic farmers to harness the power of local seed varieties. We got to plant a few of these seeds to grow on our own! My jar has sweet basil seeds and I’m excited to have some fresh herbs of my own to spruce up home cooked dishes.
I loved seeing everyone’s decorated pumpkins. Check out that cute Sailor Moon pumpkin on the right painted by Jen Mulrow.
This was the pumpkin I decorated, named Lola, after Arlina’s dog, lol. Her pumpkin is named Atticus, after my hedgehog, hahaha. I can’t wait to put this pumpkin on my balcony.
I have no clue what was in this lemonade, but it was amazing. We grabbed cups full of these drinks right before dinner.
On the Menu:
AUTUMN SALAD
Butternut Squash, Candied Walnuts, Chopped Apples, Craisins, Maple Cider Vinaigrette & a Vegan Autumn Vinaigrette
HONEY PECAN CRUSTED CHICKEN
Over Wilted Spinach Salad
ACHIOTE SALMON
Over Quinoa With Grilled Pineapple, Baby Squash
ROASTED FALL VEGANISTA BOWL
Cauliflower, Broccoli, Radishes, Chick Peas, Quinoa, Sweet Potatoes, Hippie Dippie Cashew Crema Sauce
FARM TO TABLE MINICUPCAKES
Chocolate Mint, Lemon Thyme, Strawberry Basil
During dinner, we had the opportunity to hear from a panel consisting of farmers, sustainable packaging manufacturers and the Shane Wolf, the founder of Seed Phytonutrients. Seed Phytonutrients is a natural beauty brand who goes beyond the industry norm through its sustainable packaging and support for independent farmers. The whole mission is to plant the seeds of health, well-being and sustainability for future generations. Very excited for the upcoming launch!
Seriously had the best time at Shiloh Farms planting seeds, decorating pumpkins and munching on delicious bites. It was great to take a short trip out of the city. Thank you Seed Phytonutrients for inviting me!
